Life Lessons from the Cockpit
The other day, I was boarding a flight and soon realized that the Captain was a very good friend of mine. He introduced me to the other members of the crew and offered me a seat in the cockpit.
As I sat in the cockpit a lot went through my mind. Though this wasn’t the first time I was in a cockpit, as my Father was a pilot. I remembered my childhood, when I had been allowed to tour my Father’s “office.” For those who have seen the cockpit of a plane before, they know it’s an intimidating place filled with hundreds of buttons, switches, and indicators spread across a large space. It’s not hard to understand why pilots undergo years of training to be able to successfully fly a plane. Fortunately, though, as I watched them fly, I realized there were some life lessons I could take away without having to go through flight school.
These in-flight protocols are applicable to your personal and professional lives.
