My Harry Potter Collections

The other day, I reached for a book on my bookshelf and found it next to my box set of Harry Potter books. I am a huge fan of Harry Potter — I have read all the books, seen all the movies, and even visited the world of Harry Potter at Universal Studios. I’m such a big fan of these books that I own two copies of all the books: one copy to read, and one copy to keep in my library.

Coming across these books reminded me of many of the life lessons I learned from reading these books, some of which I will share here:

- Even if you come from humble beginnings, you can be a huge success. After all, Harry Potter grew up sleeping under the stairwell of his uncle’s house.

- Even if you have immense talent, you still need to work hard. Harry was the most powerful wizard ever known, even as a baby, but he still went to school, worked hard, and learned from mentors around him to hone his talent even further.

- Choose your friends wisely and widely. Harry had very close, loyal friends that saved his life many times. They didn’t come from the same background as him, but they were still able to form friendships that helped all of them.

- People are not always who they seem — for good and for bad. As I read the books, I went back and forth so many times wondering — is Snape a good guy? Is Snape a bad guy…
